New Writing South

Described as the Gil Scott-Heron of his generation, award-winning writer and performance poet Dean Atta and New Writing South invite you to take part in a mass writing event to create a collection of flash fiction and poetry based on your idea of a perfect utopia.

With the news full of scandal, death and destruction be inspired to write your vision of a utopian society.

Performance poets will perform throughout the night, musicians will provide a sonic landscape for you to write to, and artists will provide illustrations inspired by everyone’s writing to accompany the collection of work. There’ll also be the chance to perform your work.
