Swap-a-topia

Brighton Buddhist Centre is offering a one stop swap shop – bring your dystopia for the great utopia exchange! Whilst it’s being processed by the officials – drink tea, dance, create a utopian mythical creature, write, find your inner clown, listen and learn about ‘Utopia, dystopia and Buddhism’, get out of your head with new portals to sacred pathways of the heart with Jayagita, meditate, embody the deep feminine with dance of the dakini, and then make yourself cosy for some bedtime clown stories, but make sure you’re around at midnight for the transformation into Utopia ritual…

Dance of the Dakini — Embodying the Deep Feminine — Meditation and Movement.

With Laura Shewan.

The Shakyamuni Mantra with Mahasukha

To end the ritual we’ll give voice to our deepest aspirations and devotion to the Buddha through chanting a beautiful Shakyamuni mantra, with harmonies and the sonorous beat of the drum, and through making offerings of light and incense. An uplifting and magical experience imbued with a spirit of devotion.

Letters from Nowhere by Danielle Kerris. Utopia means both ‘good place’ and ‘no place’. If we were to empty ourselves what words would we find? If we let go of the known what then springs up from nowhere, like flowers in the desert? An experimental meditation and writing workshop. Come. Empty. Write. 8-9.30pm Bring pen and paper.
