The software

Modbus Poll simulates Modbus protocol using a Modbus master emulator. It was developed to help Modbus slave developers and other users who wish to simulate it. Multiple document interface lets you monitor multiple Modbus slaves and/or data locations simultaneously. You simply need to specify the Modbus slave ID and address for each window. Size, poll rate, and function can all be set up. Any window can read and modify registers and coils. If you want to change a single register, simply double-click the value. Or, you can modify multiple registers/coils. Multiple data formats such as float, double and long with word order swapping are available.

The status line shows exception errors.

You can send your own test strings to the “test center” and get the results back from the slave using hex numbers.

OLE Automation is used to interconnect with Excel. To interpret Modbus data and show it according to your specifications. E.g. Edit data in Excel, then send it to your slave device. You can download the Excel example.xlsm file with the program.
