MetaMask is an extension for the Ethereum browser
MetaMask enables users to view Ethereum in their browser, without having to leave their website. The extension allows the user to perform Ethereum transactions from within the web browser.
What does it mean?
MetaMask extensions add Ethereum’s web3 APIs to any Javascript context. When you open a website, the extension will allow you to access the blockchain-related information. This information includes the Ethereum addresses of every wallet and the associated balances, the Ethereum address and balance of the contract address, the number of transactions that were performed, and more.
As soon as a user signs up, a wallet is created in the user’s MetaMask client and the user can move tokens between addresses, make transfers and withdrawals, and move funds between wallets.
